Annette Kasselman

Annette decided to be patron of the Oyster Project as it is geared towards raising funds which will be used
to give persons, especially youths and children, a second chance in life. She feels this is
exactly what she was given after a huge car accident.

She says: “After having major neck surgery due to a massive car accident, my  life changed drastically
and this made me look life straight in the eyes and never pass by any  opportunities.

I get up in the morning and stand in front of the mirror and say:  I'm too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed.  God saved the lives of our children, my in-laws and myself and for that I am truly thankful.”

Annette can write a string of beauty titles behind her name.
At Goudstad Teaching Academy, she swept away the Miss First Year title under the noses of her competitors.
Her love for pageants led her to enter more and in 1988 she won the prestigious Miss Randburg title.
When she and Chris got married,  she was also chosen as a finalist in the bride of the Year competition and
in 1998 their Children, Lesya and Tokkie helped her in winning the country wide search
for Living and Loving's "Mother and child of the Year" competition.

As modelling is one of her passions, it was a great honor for her to be chosen as model of the year for WYM modelling in 2000. She went on to win the title of Mrs South Africa in 2006 as well as being crowned Mrs World Wide in the same year.

The World Wide Pageantis not the traditional "beauty pageant." It is dedicated to the philosophy that everyone has his or her own sense of style and beauty, and therefore it is a "personal-style" and "achievement" competition.
They truly want to see the participants’ unique and special qualities shine!

But this is not all Annette do. She is also a radio presenter (for which she has won awards),
an excellent master of ceremonies, compère of many shows, celebrity judge and motivational speaker.

According to Annette however, she is first of all wife and lover to Chris, her husband,
and loving mother to Lesya and Tokkie, her two children.

“I live my life trying to make others around me happy. The loving and caring upbringing of my parents, rubbed off well on me and this is the way I would like to raise our children as well.  They taught me their Christian values and to take every opportunity and seize the moment and I try to be the best "me" that I can.  Being such a perfectionist, I set high standards for
myself and my family.  I try to be the best wife, mother and friend that I can be.

The words of Winston Churchill ring so true in my life.
He says:  "You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give."

To the world I might be one person, but to one person I might just be the world.
